Aston Martin One-77

Aston Martin is working on their new model. You could read it on Wheeltronix at the end of  October. They made a great article about the newest project of Aston Martin, the One-77.

Wheeltronix wrote:

It marks the first appearance of a new Aston Martin engine, a 7.3-litre V12 to give over 700bhp and a top speed of over 200mph.

This powerful Aston Martin will go from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, and will go over the 320km/h as maximum speed.

Party at Bugatti: Bleu Centenaire

admin March 3rd, 2009

At the Geneva Auto Show this month, Bugatti reveiled their newest version of the Bugatti Veyron. This isn’t a whole new model of this incredible  ride, but just a new version. Just like the preverious versions,   Bugatti 16/4 Veyron,  the Veyron Pagaso, Veyron Pur Sang, the  Veyron Fbg par Hermès and the Veyron Sang Noirthe, this  Bleu Centenaire is technical all the same as the rest of the list. There are just a few different items, like the color of this vehicle.

The Bleu Centenaire is matt blue only the roof and hood are glossy blue, although it’s hard to see on the photo’s. The colors they used are called Sprintblue Gloss and Sprintblue Matt. So basically no shocking news, but still a nice ride.

Photo’s thanks to: Autowereld.

Renntech Tuning: Mercedes SLR to 777HP!

admin February 1st, 2009

Power-Rides is all about cars with great results and massive power. Off course not all cars are powerful cars, but here an example of a true monster. The Mercedes McLaren SLR.

Mercedes Benz displays the Sterling Moss version of the SLR at the Detroit Auto Show, and will be the last version of this model. The SLR is a nice piece of work between Mercedes and McLaren and will end at the end of this year.

RENNTECH 777 20th Anniversary, or: Horsepower Wars really Really REALLY Not Over

Last week, AMG boss Volker Mornhinweg announced that “the horsepower war is over.” If this sounds familiar, it’s because AMG issued a similar press release LAST JANUARY.

“Last year, it was a coincidence that we were releasing a new, 695 hp performance package for the 65 series AMG cars at around the same time. We sent out a press release that said ‘HP War Not Over’,” recalls Hartmut Feyhl, president of RENNTECH and four-star General of the horsepower wars. “This year it is the same timing again, and we have something much more extreme to announce for our 20th Anniversary.”

Feyhl founded RENNTECH in 1989, and the company has since established itself as one of the world’s premier tuning firms and the foremost authority on Mercedes-Benz performance tuning. 2009 marks the company’s 20th year in business, and the company intends to celebrate by releasing a small number of extreme, limited edition performance vehicles, beginning with the 777 hp, RENNTECH 777 shown here.

“This 777 concept is really an all-new car that makes use of the advanced carbon fiber chassis of the SLR McLaren. It can be described as a street-legal track car, or something closer to what the enthusiasts were hoping for from the SLR, originally – which is more a successor to the McLaren F1.”

RENNTECH heavily revised the SLR McLaren bodywork and aero package using some of the same technology the company used to develop the the GLK Hybrid Rally Racer for Mercedes-Benz, including advanced CFD software to develop the aerodynamics for improved downforce. Even with the big wing, splitters, and skirts, a top speed in excess of 210 mph is well within reach for the 777.

The 777 is much more than lightweight bodywork, however. The 5.5 L supercharged “Kompressor” v8 engine is heavily revised, with internal and external performance upgrades and a significantly upgraded cooling system.

Getting that power to the ground is the job of a fully redesigned suspension and driveline, with a heavily reinforced transmission sending power to RENNTECH’s revolutionary new limited-slip differential. Built for RENNTECH by Japanese supplier OS Giken, the recently-released differential allows for 100% locking between the drive wheels for unsurpassed mid-corner traction. Aggressive Nitto NT-05 ultra-high performance tires wrapped around extremely lightweight, 1 pc. center-locking wheels round out the street -legal handling package.

“The 777 will be a very special car,” explains Hartmut. “The first example is being built now, and will be ready this Spring. We intend to build a few different extreme vehicles like this for our 20th anniversary, with each one being strictly limited to 20 units. They are all very exciting projects, and we will be announcing them throughout the year, as they approach completion.”

Audi A7 Sportback Concept Release

admin January 27th, 2009

This new Audi A7 Sportback concept is an extreme clean diesel. Underneath this huge hood is a 3.0 liter V6 TDI, which is already the EU6-emission requirements of 2014! It’s a 225 hp Diesel engine with a maximum torque of 550 Nm, linked to the seven-step S tronic transmission. Sprint from 0 to 100 km/h last in seven seconds. Not the fastest, but atleast one of the greatest :)

Top speed of this car is 245 km/h and has an average consumption of only 5.9l/100 km, which corresponds to a CO2 emission of 156 g / km.

Here a nice 360° view of the new Audi A7 Sportback Concept

Spotted: Porsche Carrera GT

admin January 26th, 2009

Yesterday, I made a trip to Amsterdam -- The Netherlands. While driving on the A10 near Amsterdam -- close to the center of Amsterdam -- I’ve spotted this Porsche Carrera GT. Off course when you drive it’s very hard to take some photo’s, so I asked my girl to take some. Sadly enough only from the back, but oke.. original content is always hard to get.

My girl took also a small video of it, but the sound is kinda soft, because I was in my car :) So if you gonna watch the video, put the sound up and you will hear him accelerate. What an incredible sound! I like it!

A friend of mine was so excited, that he also posted this Porsche Carrera GT on his Car Spot Blog.
